Ruth Naomi Leipold Rash

Ruth Naomi Rash, 85 of LeRoy formerly of Bloomington, passed away on Wednesday, April 04, 2018 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

 

Ruth’s graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 1pm at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Stanford. Visitation will be held from 11:30am-1pm at Beck Memorial Home on Tuesday.

 

The family suggests memorials to be made to the American Heart Association or to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.

 

Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.

 

Ruth was born on September 2, 1932 in Stanford, IL. She is the daughter of George J. and Katherine E. (Steiger) Leipold.

 

She is survived by her six children, Nancy Rash of Bloomington, Jim (Vickie) Rash of Shirley, Cindy (Steve) Henert of Bloomington, Sonia (Victor) Reyes of Bloomington, Sue Woolridge of Bloomington and William Rash of Bloomington, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, 1 grandson, 1 great grandson, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law and 1 nephew.

 

Ruth went to Stanford and Bloomington schools and attended NCHS. She worked 28 years at Eureka Williams retiring in 1995. She was a member of Assembly of God and later First Church of God in Normal. Ruth loved church, music and her family.

 

Ruth was a big supporter of American Red Cross, donating blood when she could. She had a gift of playing piano, organ and accordion by ear and would play for her church after retirement. She was a great cook and wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
